Angola LNG leases another tanker

Angola LNG has sub-chartered another of its vessels as the beleaguered African export project encounters yet more problems. This time, the project owner has leased out the Cubal to Italy’s Eni, at a rate of close to $100,000 per day.
The tanker was seen lifting Belgian volumes from Zeebrugge which are expected to head to the Far East.
GDF Suez, looking to increase its activity in the LNG market this winter, chartered the Sonangol Sambizanga from the Angolan plant – albeit at a cheaper rate of $90,000/d – little more than two weeks ago, which demonstrates the bullishness of the east-of-Suez charter market.
